Inspect the product before each use
Check air pressure, seams, valves, handles, bottoms, covers, ropes, tow points when applicable, warning labels, attachments, and the overall setup. Remove damaged or questionable equipment from service.
Use appropriate supervision and flotation equipment
Provide supervision suited to the users and activity, and follow all requirements for activity-specific personal flotation equipment.
Do not treat recreational tubes as life-saving devices
Recreational tubes and floats do not replace supervision, swimming ability, approved flotation equipment, or emergency preparation.
Tow only products explicitly designed for towing
Never tow a recreational product unless its product label and supplied instructions specifically identify and permit towing use.
Observe product-specific limits
Follow the stated rider capacity, inflation guidance, attachment instructions, and every other product-specific limitation.
Assess weather, water, traffic, and surroundings
Avoid unsafe weather, currents, traffic, obstacles, restricted areas, and conditions beyond the users' skills or the product's instructions.
Clean, dry, deflate, and store as directed
Rinse after salt water, chlorine, mud, or heavy use; use mild soap when needed; dry fully; and follow the product instructions for deflation, transport, repair, and storage away from heat, sun, chemicals, and sharp objects.
